The June 7th figure marks the lowest daily total in a decade, supporting the Security Cabinet’s report of a steady 20-month decline in violent crime.

On Sunday, June 7th, Mexico registered 28 intentional homicide—the lowest daily figure in the last decade and so far under the administration of President Claudia Sheinbaum. This broke the previous record of 29 set on May 15th, 2026, according to preliminary data from the Executive Secretariat of the National Public Security System.

The state of Guanajuato registered four homicides, while 18 states reported none. Meanwhile, Mexico City, State of Mexico, Chihuahua, Guerrero, Jalisco, Morelos and Puebla each registered two, and Veracruz, Tabasco, Michoacán, and Querétaro recorded one each.
